A friend in every face- Copyright Robert Fullarton 2013
Do you see
in every face a friend?
Or a
perpetual foe
Deep
penetrating streams of people
Between
here and now, then
And a
distant race
Man is a
colour
And the
world
Is the
paint stripper
Corroding
thin smiles
like dust
brushed
By the
moving wind
And through
the tunnel
The elder
emerges
Humble,
beautiful, tragic
Cracked,
infant like
And close
to God
Near his
tunnel
And the end
of the earth
Freshly
born youth
The
pragmatisms
The newly
sown dreams
The
promises
The odes to
loves
bright as
stars
Oh my soul…
How I hurt!
