Love Infallible Copyright Robert Fullarton 2008

Love Infallible
Copyright Robert Fullarton 2008

The abstinence of your beauty
lies like a steel domineering cage
holding no ground
 to petty feelings
towering over each boundary sought
or broken
for want is translucent
in blackest morbid night
and clear with ghostly curses
in the the full glare of the madening day

Love has taken the lotus eaters
and taken me too
such waiting
makes one wait some more,
comets and wishing wells
are my dear thoughts in practice
forlorn to each hearts quartet
I long to unite on the sleeping trance
the advocate
for a great Protégé to glory,
to endure the heights and depths
of skies and cries
in hollowed dungeons
only empower epiphanies
the romance
for this love infallible, immortal

A very old poem I wrote while I was in Croatia looking out from the verandah to a beautiful setting sun in the Adriatic. Its a spiritual poem about my beliefs...unfortunately it has nothing to do with coital or erotic love, but is about spiritual and emotional love.
