The Wild
-Copyright Robert Fullarton 2015

The Bracken and the gorse
in Wicklow's wild wilderness
beyond
where Oak seeds
plowed long ago
with ancient arms
the fingers
beneath the wintry Earth
Where birds in time
have dropped the seed
that grows in season
like a rhyme dancing
on the meaning
and the fresh spring torrent
It builds purpose
and candid beauty
like the silvery bellows
of Lough Dan

Eye can see what lives
for today
But hearts can sing
for what clings to tomorrow
